Dear Fit,

Hello Fit, goodbye Flabby; yes, that means going from Flabby to Fit, there’s no room for both.

It’s been too long. But I’m ready now, and I think you’re ready too. As I approach another decade birthday, I realize I’m tired. Tired of being fat, which has nothing to do with vanity. Okay, that’s a lie, it’s sort of vanity. I’m tired of breathing hard when climbing stairs, cramming my belly into pants, buying clothes that I try to tell myself make me look thinner (they don’t, pictures don’t lie).

Okay, enough of being tired, which means Flabby to Fit is in my future.

I want to eat better, feel better, look better (great skin is key), and I want to live longer. At the rate I’m going, I’m not going to live much longer than my father, who died at fifty-nine. Luckily I’m not on a lot of meds for blood pressure, nor to I have diabetes (borderline, so I’m close), and even though rheumatoid arthritis runs in my family I haven’t been afflicted yet.

Here’s the deal Fit, I know what to do to make this happen. That’s right, I majored in human performance with a minor in nutrition when I was in college, so I know how the body works, and what good nutrition is. Heck, I’ve even set up weight training programs for everyone from a woman who wanted to lose 100+ pounds to elite college athletes. I know what to do, it’s a matter of doing it. And I’m so ready!

I’m ready to say goodbye to Flabby

That chick who makes excuses, looks in the mirror and says “I’ll start tomorrow,” the one who has everything she needs but doesn’t use it. How am I going to kick Flabby to the curb? you ask.

I’m making myself accountable.

And this blog is my accountability. Though I’m not yet ready, I’m going to post before and after pictures. I’m in the before stage, so after pictures may have to follow weekly update pictures. Yeah, that’s it! I’ll do a weekly check in. That’s how I’ll keep myself accountable.

What about everyone else who wants to break up with Flabby and give Fit a try?

That’s what this blog is all about. I’m not only going to post my own journey, I’m going to post information for other people who want to go on their own journey. And guess what? There’s even a Facebook group for us to commiserate!
